For those what asked

A buddy of mine was, as the song goes, messin’ where he shouldna’ been messin’, and the lady’s OTHER boyfriend tried to run him off the road.

Now, issues of infidelity aside, isn’t running someone off the road just a delightfully old-fashioned, Dashiell Hammett sort of way to try to murder a fellow?

All parties concerned survived the encounter (perhaps demonstrating why “running someone off the road” as a practice has gone the Way of all Things).

  1. It is scary that someone actually tried to run your friend off of the road, but kind of funny that it happened. Not in a “hurtful” but a “I can not believe someone did that” kind of way.

PS-The lesbian thing totally backfired, but at least the roomie stepped up to the plate when needed…right? I am use to handling the creeps. It has been happening for years.

  2. Back when I was in college, my new boyfriend pulled a gun (not loaded, of course) on my ex boyfriend who just wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.  The ex had tried to kidnap me one night after I got off work (tried to force me in his car and got violent when I wouldn’t go).  After that the ex never came around bothering again.

Unloaded guns are probably the way to go.  Unless the other guy has one that is loaded.  Then you’re pretty much screwed.

  3. Running someone off the road is something you really have to commit too….Some actual planning has to be involved. You do not run them off into a park or someones driveway. You run them off a cliff or into a gas main or electrical substation… or even into some gas pumps. It is all in the timing. People just don’t take the time to do quality work anymore, thats the problem. These young people want everything NOW NOW NOW… Anyhow I am glad your friend is ok =)

  4. I want to run people off the road, but I really don’t want to dent my car. I just have all the wrong priorities.
