God Damn it all.

yr. corresp. strongly feels he is living in a nazi regime.

What is being done to this man, and others like him is wrong. Not to mention a serious abuse of a legal process for a purpose other then its intent.

  1. The sad thing is, this isn’t the only guy that this is happening to.  In my humble opinion Bush has really screwed the pooch on this whole mid-east thing.  Of course saying that makes me un-American and I’ll be crucified for saying such things… until Bush is out of office anyway.

  2. I’ve been reading your thoughts on Vicar’s and Grundy’s sites.  Have to say that I agree for the most part.  I thought you might like this bit of info… after the stupid joke part anyway.  It certainly goes against the ideas that Cornbread has spouted with the US better than in a democrat in the White House.

As for Mike Hawash, it is criminal what is going on.  People with the wrong color skin are being hurt, such as South Americans who kinda/sorta/but not really look Muslim.  And what about the Hindu.  How different do they look?  I thought we were supposed to learn our lessons from detaining Japanese/Americans during WWII.

  3. The government breaks down your door early one morning searching for you…they take many items from your home, they take you into custody, your wife and children are left in tears without explanation.  You’re held at a facility where you are not charged with a crime…have no rights and nobody is allowed to know why or for how long this will last.

Now, did I just describe what happened to a US citizen from Hilsboro, Oregon or was it something that happened in Iraq under Saddam’s Regime?  Makes you wonder.

Another thing that makes me wonder…yes, Mike plead guilty this week after months of confinement due to a deal that was offered which stated he would be assured of a ten year sentence if he agreed but could face up to life if he did not.  Now I’m not entirely sure that I wouldn’t have gone for such a deal in this climate…and I’m neither Arabic nor am I Muslim.  But really now, consider the level of zeal one must have in order to take part in such actions…do you really think that a life sentence would have frightened anyone that dedicated to a cause?  Am I the only anglo to see a difference between the devout Muslim and the crazed zealot?  I don’t think so…but then, we who do aren’t running this war/investigation.  Hell, I’d have taken the deal and gone anywhere the government wanted, said whatever they wanted me to say if I had a wife and children, who’s future depended on me.
